Privacy Policy — Dispersion

Last updated: 5 August 2026

Dispersion does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers.

What the app stores

Everything you enter — your clubs, their distances and dispersion settings, your units preference and your wind setting — is saved locally on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere, and the developer has no ability to see it. Deleting the app deletes this data permanently.

Location

Dispersion asks for location access ("While Using the App") for a single purpose: to place your ball at your position on the map and to measure distances from it. Your location is used on your device, in the moment, and is never recorded, stored or transmitted by the app. If you decline location access, you can still use the app by tapping the map to place your ball manually.

Maps

Map imagery is provided by Apple Maps, which is part of iOS. As with any maps app, your device requests map tiles from Apple for the area you are viewing. That exchange is handled by Apple, is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy, and is not visible to the developer of this app.

Analytics and crash reports

The app contains no analytics or tracking software. If you have chosen in your iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide the developer with anonymous, aggregated crash and usage statistics. This is an Apple feature that you control in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, and it contains nothing that identifies you.

Children

Dispersion is suitable for all ages and does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, material changes are unlikely.
